Fundraising is undertaken by Alliance
members for the purpose of supporting the Foundation’s grant processes.
The Alliance usually undertakes two major fundraisers each year, the
Charity Ball, a formal event, and the Surf and Turf sale and dinner, a
casual event. In addition, this year the Alliance will be hosting an
evening of shopping at Hot Mama as well as participating in Noto’s Charity Wine Fest.
Health Promotions are activities that
follow AMA Alliance initiatives or locally adopted projects to promote
education and/or assistance with regard to health issues in the local
community. Past projects have included a school anti-bullying campaign
called “Hands are not for Hitting” and a “Health Literacy” program
directed toward medical providers.
Community Projects are those in
which we have established an ongoing relationship with organizations in
our community. We also have members acting as liaisons on a number of
Boards including Cherry Street Health Services, Citizens Advisory
Council, Kent Medical Foundation, and the West Michigan Medical
Association.
Special Interest Groups are designed for
social interaction between members in areas of mutual interest. Members
are invited to join any group on a regular or occasional basis. Friends
are always welcome! Gourmet Club is the only exception due to its
popularity and space considerations. Members are also welcome to
initiate a new group based on personal interests.
