The
Alliance advances the science and art of medicine in partnership with
the Kent County Medical Society by advocating health-related
philanthropy, legislation, education, and by promoting friendship among
families of physicians.
KCMSA is a non-profit
service organization comprised of spouses of members of the Kent County Medical Society,
physicians and spouses of other practicing, retired and resident
physicians. As a service organization, KCMSA focuses on health related
needs in the community through educational programs, legislative and
advocacy initiatives and volunteer fund raising efforts with an
emphasis on issues affecting women and children.
The KCMSA Foundation was established as the
charitable arm of the Alliance in 1997 as a
501(c)3 organization in order to accept tax deductible donations and
carry out the Alliance's philanthropic mission. Personal
donations, as well as funds raised through events and activities
conducted by the Alliance, are distributed to
charitable organizations in the community through a grant process.
Additionally, KCMSA
offers its members a wide range of social and networking opportunities
through regularly scheduled monthly meetings, numerous special events,
special interest groups and other volunteer related activities.
KCMSA represents a
diverse group of individuals committed to advancing the family of
medicine and creating a healthier community through rewarding
relationships and service opportunities. We hope you will
consider joining us!
